On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Richard Holmboe spoke about whale intelligence.
Just how smart are whales? Fellow Men’s Club member Richard Holmboe presented information on many whale characteristics that demonstrate their high intelligence. This was accompanied by a slide deck of amazing pictures and videos.
Richard has lived in Village Montgomery for 17 years, and has served on the village’s DAC, the ABOD and on EPC. He and Arlene just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. In his civilian career, he worked mostly for HP and Agilent Technologies. He spent a good part of that career writing high-tech manuals and training courses. Richard also spent 22 years in the Navy and Naval Reserve, in submarines, surface navy and naval air. He has been a popular docent at Pigeon Point Lighthouse near Pescadero for seven years.
