With water issues making local headlines almost daily, this was a timely presentation. Our speakers discussed these important questions, provide an overview of the Valley’s water system, and share their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing our community.
John Varela represents South County on the Santa Clara Valley Water District Board of Directors, serving Morgan Hill, Gilroy, the unincorporated community of San Martin, and portions of South San Jose. He is a former Morgan Hill mayor and city councilman
Mike Potter serves as Community Outreach Supervisor for Santa Clara Water. Before joining the Water District, he spent nine years managing Local Government Affairs for a major technology company and also served as District Director for two members of the California State Legislature.
